Washington, DC. , August 25, 2010 — Patriot Technologies Group’s CEO and President Dan Caine will participate in a symposium featuring the air controllers and pilots who played central roles in events surrounding the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Sponsored by the the McDermott Library’s Special Collections located at the University of Texas at Dallas, the moderator will be Lynn Spencer, author of the popular book, “Touching History: The Untold Story of the Drama That Unfolded in the Skies Over America on 9/11.” This critically acclaimed 2008 book recounts the nation’s aviation response during and in the immediate aftermath of the terrorist attacks.

Despite an unprecedented disruption to aviation business, nearly 5,000 aircraft eventually landed safely. There were no midair collisions, landing crashes or other aviation mishaps, due in part to the actions of the panelists who will be speaking at this event. Mr. Caine will join a distinguished group including:

Ben Sliney, Federal Aviation Administration National Operations Manager who on his first day on the job made the historic command to shut down American airspace.

Gerald Earwood, pilot of Midwest Express Flight 7, which nearly collided with United 175 before it hit the South Tower and the pilot of the first commercial jetliner out of New York two days later.

Colin Scoggins, the military liaison and an air traffic controller at FAA’s Boston Center who refused the order to evacuate his post, thereby providing him the opportunity to relay to key information to the military and FAA.

Maj. Joe “Rosey” McGrady of the 102nd Fighter Wing from the Otis Air National Guard Base who flew into combat with no weapons meaning that in order to stop a targeted hijacked airliner he would have to crash into it.

Chuck Savall, pilot of Midwest Express Flight 73 who flew low on fuel to four states before landing without clearance.

Dan Creedon, departure controller for the Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) at Reagan National Airport, Washington, D.C., who diverted aircraft away from American Flight 77, which later rammed into the Pentagon, and tracked possible targets taking off and landing all over the city.

This event is being sponsored by McDermott Library’s History of Aviation Collection. The collection documents the first century of flight with more than 2,500,000 documents, photographs and other items gathered from more than 200 donated private collections.

The symposium is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. There is no admission fee but attendees are asked to register online at: http://utdspecialcollections.eventbrite.com

Please Note: The UT Dallas campus is undergoing a significant amount of construction. Guests are advised to visit our campus map for updated route, construction, and parking information.

With offices in Virginia, Texas, and California, Patriot Technologies Group is a homeland security aviation company and is principally engaged in providing it’s clients training, consulting, and operational services focused on increasing the situational awareness of decision makers while helping to ensure the safety and security of our Nations communities.

Los Angeles, CA, August 17, 2010 – Patriot Technologies Group, LLC (PTG) announced today the completion of hot weather testing on it’s Multi-Mission Aircraft (MMA).

During testing, the performance, handling, and engine cooling qualities of the aircraft were verified with an average takeoff temperature of over 110-degrees. Testing was conducted at the Tucson International Airport in Tucson, Arizona. The tests began in early July.

PTG’s Chief Operating Officer and Director of Operations, Mr. Steve McShea, flew over 30 hours of flight test which evaluated the handling and performance qualities of the aircraft and Jabiru engine to law enforcement leaders and clients. Specific emphasis was placed on aircraft performance in high density altitudes and engine cooling.

“The MMA performance was completely unaffected by the excessive heat in the test environment” said McShea. “In the summer heat in Tucson engine cooling and aircraft handling were outstanding.”

“This was a major milestone, and the test results demonstrate that the PTG MMA is a fantastic airframe for our law enforcement clients.” said PTG’s CEO Dan Caine. “We are completely confident the airplane can handle the rigors of operating in high density altitude environments and I’m proud of our test team for their efforts during this important phase of MMA testing.”

The PTG MMA, based on the J-430 4-place aircraft, combines advanced composite construction, with an outstanding sensor package achieving lower operational and support costs for the client.

PTG is a leading homeland security firm offering our clients full spectrum training, consulting, subject matter expertise, and best-in-the-world manned aerial observation and associated analytical services.

Washington, DC, July 22, 2010 – Patriot Technologies Group (PTG) is pleased to announce the completion of a full mission profile demonstration of our Multi-Mission Aircraft (MMA) to Fire Chiefs representing the Ventura County, CA Fire District yesterday.

“We are happy to have had the opportunity to illustrate the important situational awareness tools our Multi-Mission Aircraft can provide for airborne fire support,” said PTG CEO Dan Caine.

“Every year hundreds of brave firefighters risk their lives for us fighting incredibly complex fires in California. We care deeply about the sacrifices that they make and believe our aircraft will provide the firefighters and their leadership greater real-time situational awareness, and help keep our firefighters and communities safe,” said Caine.

PTG’s Multi-Mission Aircraft (MMA) is a revolutionary, affordable, airborne mapping and aerial support vehicle for clients. PTG’s MMA is an extraordinarily capable technology focused system, packaged on a very economical single-engine fixed-wing aircraft. The retractable EO/IR camera ball and on-board mapping system allow the two-man crew to quickly generate precisely geo-registered maps of the fire perimeter and hot spots. These “shape” files are immediately available to GIS personnel on the ground through in-flight cellular and line-of-sight downlinks. The system can also precisely measure flame height and surface area, as well as transmit live video to battery powered, hand-held receivers that are provided with the PTG service.

PTG’s MMA can provide real-time streaming video, near real-time pictures, perimeter map and shapefiles, all designed to assist incident commanders with key and time critical decision making information. Experienced aviators and TFOs that have flown on multiple fire missions will control PTG’s MMA. This aircraft will provide Ventura County Fire District and other Departments and Agencies greater real-time situational awareness and help keep our firefighters and communities safe.

PTG is a leading homeland security firm. PTG offers its clients full-spectrum training, consulting, subject matter expertise, best-in-the-world manned aerial observation, and associated analytical services. PTG’s addressed markets include defense, homeland security, law enforcement, first responder, private equity, investment, and insurance industry clients. PTG’s outstanding team of professionals consists of current and former fighter pilots, special operations operators from our Nation’s premier counterterrorism forces, as well as former members of the White House staff, Department of Homeland Security staff, and several branches of military and law enforcement.
As part of the Aircrew Support School, the Guardian Eye academic course offers a discussion of real life scenarios that are reviewed to improve the flight crews’ skill in providing the highest level of support to the law enforcement team. Emphasis is placed on the effectiveness of available tools provided to the aircrew, as well as building efficient communication skills, integrating with the entire law enforcement team to become a force multiplier, and enhancing ground and air officer safety. Practical exercises are used throughout the course to enhance the overall classroom experience and construct a deeper level of understanding.
